Sometimes you’ve got to return the favor and wake your cat up in the middle of one of their naps just to see how they like it. A little gentle nudge at noon while they’re curled up in a sunbeam seems fair after the 3 a.m. hallway sprints. Just a small reminder that sleep is important. Of course, they’ll look at you like you’ve committed a crime, which perfectly proves the point.

Somehow we spend the whole day exhausted, barely making it through work or errands, counting down the hours until we can finally sleep. Then 3 a.m. rolls around and suddenly we’re wide awake for no good reason. The brain decides it’s the perfect time to replay every conversation from the past ten years or start thinking about completely random things. Meanwhile the cat is sprinting down the hallway like it’s the middle of the afternoon.

At some point during the night, every cat owner has woken up to find their cat sitting there quietly staring straight into their soul. No sound, no movement, just two glowing eyes in the dark. You don’t know how long they’ve been there or what they want, but they’re clearly waiting for something. Food, attention, or just acknowledgment. Either way, the message is clear: the cat is awake now, and therefore you should be too.
